Numerical Simulation of Solitary Wave Forces on A Vertical Cylinder on A Slope Beach

Wave forces acting on a vertical cylinder at different locations slope beach in the near-shore region are investigated considering solitary waves as incoming waves. Based Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations and k-ε turbulence model, wave due to interaction between simulated analyzed with incident heights locations. The numerical results first compared previous theoretical experimental validate model accuracy. Then, characteristics around studied, including velocity field, surface elevation pressure. effects of relative height, Keulegan-Carpenter (KC) number also discussed. show that exerted exponentially increase increasing height KC number. Before force peaks, growth rate shows an trend moves onshore. location has notable effect region. As onshore, initially increases then decreases. For cases considered here, maximum appears when is located one diameter below still-water shoreline. Furthermore, fluid peaks same location.
